Talk to Your Children:
I almost drowned in situations because I was never taught how
to swim.
In situations where I should have simply swum away—I remained there panicking, kicking, screaming, crying, afraid, hurting, unsure about my future, drowning . . . because I was never taught how to swim. I even became prey . . ..
(I
thank God for His Fatherly love, lessons, healing, and preparation along the
way. God kept me afloat.)
Serious
talks—about every area of life—with our children are vital. Preparing our
children for their future and for life in general is vital. Teaching our
children how to recognize red flags and toxicity in others, and even in
themselves, it is all vital. Teaching our children when it is time to walk away
from toxic situations and people—guilt-free, boldly regardless of feelings, and
for the betterment of their well-being, is vital. Teaching our children that
not every ending is a "loss", but rather, "gain"—of
important life lessons, growth, happiness, new beginnings—is vital. Teaching
our children to understand, acknowledge, embrace, and proclaim their value, is
vital. Teaching our children how to have and maintain integrity, self-respect,
and love for themselves, it is all vital. Teaching our children the importance
of having a relationship with God, their Salvation in Jesus Christ, and being
led by the Holy Spirit—vital.
Talk
to your children! Nurture your children! Sincerely and unconditionally love
your children! They are not your competition! Desire the best for them! Help
them to grow and fly! Do not look at your children with jealous, covetous,
envious eyes! Look at them with love! Talk to your children . . . it is vital.
If you cannot help them in an area, that is okay, humbly ask for help from
someone whom you can surely trust—just make sure your children are nurtured,
growing, and being prepared for life. Make sure your children know that you
sincerely love them, unconditionally.
